Last morning on Curacao..

Today we finally will depart from the island I once called home. I’ll leave with mixed feelings as I’m afraid I won’t visit this island any time soon again.  Curacao has gained a special place in my heart. I raised my first born here, founded my company and learned many of life’s lessons. Although it’s dry, dusty and sometimes very unfriendly., I’ve made some life long friends on this godforsaken rock in the middle of the Carribean.  I truly hope to cross paths with Willo, Jacqueline, Arie and Marc in the near future, but I know my travel plans will make this highly unlikely. I would especially like to thank Willo, for being a guardian to Ah Ma, keeping her dry and well excersised. Al that’s left is a quick stop at immigration and what I hope to be an even quicker stop at the supermarket,. Then we finally throw the lines loose,  navigate over the ‘Ah Ma shoals’ and point the nose West for the coming four to five days. I hope to find Linda on the other end of this passage, as she will be flying out to Panama in the coming week.

I’m excited, and a little sad, but I knew this moment was to come.
